TurboChef Unveils Residential Speedcook Oven
4/27/2006
(Atlanta, GA – April 27, 2006) -- TurboChef Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OVEN) debuted its eagerly anticipated 30” Double Wall Speedcook oven at the 2006 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) this past weekend in Chicago. More than 80,000 kitchen designers, dealers, distributors, builders and consumers attended the convention, which showcased the latest products from the kitchen and bath industry. Each day over 1,200 people visited the booth to view the new oven, which features TurboChef’s patented technology and a unique retro-modern design. Due to its advanced technology and incredible ease of use, the oven was quickly adopted by the industry.
“Going into K/BIS, we were already confident about the quality, innovation and design of our new TurboChef 30” Double Wall Speedcook Oven,” said Steve Beshara, Chief Branding Officer, TurboChef Technologies, “But the response at K/BIS has surpassed even our expectations. We are thrilled that TurboChef has made such a strong impact at the show and has generated so much interest among consumers, distributors and the media.”
Throughout the weekend, culinary superstar Charlie Trotter of Charlie Trotter’s (Chicago, IL) conducted live cooking demonstrations offering attendees culinary creations while showcasing the innovative Cookwheel™ and functional features of the residential model. The demonstrations illustrated not only the speed of the oven, but the quality of the dishes prepared therein, while further providing attendees with the opportunity to imagine the oven in action within a residential kitchen setting. Trotter dazzled the crowd preparing dishes such as Cod with Purple Fingerling Potatoes in seven minutes, Oven Roasted Eggplant in six minutes, a two and a half pound Roasted Rack of Lamb in seven minutes, and a Pear Three Point Tart with Burnt Orange Caramel Sauce in three minutes.
In addition to the company’s main presence in the South Hall, TurboChef was the exclusive sponsor of the K/BIS Press Room where notable chef Guenter Seeger of Seeger’s in Atlanta, the Southeast’s only Mobil Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond, Relais & Chateau restaurant, held private one-on-one demonstrations for members of the press recreating a five-star dining experience with the oven.
The TurboChef 30” Double Wall Speedcook Oven will be available in Fall 2006 through authorized dealers throughout the United States and Canada. Consumers can choose from Stainless Steel, as well as six colors - Orange Hearth, Thermal Red, Evening Blue, Charcoal, Ivory and White. The suggested retail price is $7,495.00.
